About Shay Skylar

Shay Skylar is a Southern California-based lead vocalist, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and full-time live performer. Music runs in his blood—he’s the grandson of legendary Tin Pan Alley Hall of Fame songwriter Sunny Skylar, making his path into music feel almost destined.

A university graduate with a degree in Music and Music Technology, Shay is passionate about bringing real instruments back to the forefront of modern music. His sound blends modern rock with acoustic and pop influences, creating a fresh yet nostalgic vibe that sets him apart.

Nominated for “Best Americana Song” at the 2021 San Diego Music Awards, Shay writes, records, produces, mixes, and promotes all of his own music. He plays a wide array of instruments, including electric and acoustic guitar, bass, drums, piano, keyboard, lap steel, and mandolin, among others—showcasing his versatility and commitment to his craft. With a driving passion for rock revival, Shay Skylar carves out a distinctive voice in today’s music scene.
